Since solar panels and the energy they produce are silent, the only way you’ll know they’re not working is through regularly monitoring the energy being produced.

Another signal that some or all of your solar panels are not working is by examining your electric utility bills for higher electricity usage.

Note: You have to examine the kilowatt-hour usage on your utility bill to notice increased consumption. The monthly billing amount itself won’t help you identify any issues because it usually doesn’t change due to annual solar account settling (true-up) with your utility company.

Our Real-time Solar Monitoring & Alert Service is only $5/month or $50/annual (discount) – we will take over daily monitoring of your solar PV system and provide service alerts if performance has dropped.

It’s a bargain for the peace of mind and knowing your system is being monitored for any problems 24/7.

Real-time hourly, daily, monthly, and yearly production reporting are also provided.

If your system underperforms at any point, our system will send us an alert, and we’ll inspect the data to see if it’s weather related, seasonal, or if there’s an issue with your solar energy system itself.

If your system ever needs solar repairs, we’ll do our best to help you process it under warranty and provide you with a discount on our labor.

We’ll help you transfer your monitoring to our system.

We’ll monitor your solar energy system performance 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and remotely investigate any alerts that pop up.

One free remote troubleshooting call per month is included to attempt to resolve any issues.

Our plan includes discounted rates for additional phone troubleshooting, plus discounted truck-roll rates and discounted repair services if needed.

A WiFi or cellular connection is required.

We currently support all solar monitoring systems.

*If you do not currently have a solar monitoring system, one would need to be installed at an additional fee for us to be able to provide monitoring service. We recommend the installation of a Wiser Energy device to configure your monitoring. A discounted installation rate is available for our real-time solar monitoring clients.

Our real-time solar monitoring plan is transferrable to new homeowners in the event of a property sale.

How does solar monitoring work?

For most quality solar energy systems, a performance monitoring device was also installed, usually at the inverter or main service panel.

The solar performance monitoring device connects to your WiFi or cellular service to provide current and historical energy production data to the system’s data service.

Sunpower, Enphase, and SolarEdge include solar monitoring with their systems.

Most solar monitoring systems provide smartphone apps and websites that allow you to see the energy output of your system on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis (in kilowatt-hours).

Some monitoring systems also provide the data of your household’s energy consumption.

Monitoring your solar energy production and your household’s consumption can help you use your electricity more wisely and take better advantage of your solar power output.

Our real-time solar monitoring and alert system will observe your system 24/7, so you’ll never miss when the system goes down.

If your solar installer has disappeared, you can still signup. We do not have to be the original installers of your system for you to join.
